Getting started with Google Web Toolkit (GWT)

接触了GWT已经2天了，说说感受吧，虽然没有在上面做出什么东西来。算是纸上谈兵吧。
先介绍一下GWT：Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is a Java software development framework that makes writing AJAX applications like Google Maps and Gmail easy for developers who don't speak browser quirks as a second language.
开始以为所有有用java写的web app都可以转成js运行，后来发现其实不是。
刚开始接触的时候感觉比较不可思议，后来下了代码，配了个例子跑起来，慢慢了解它的流程。
今天本来打算自己写个java的读取文件的例子，然后看看能不能转换成js，未果。
本来可以运行的几行代码扔到这个框架里面就出错了。
后来在网上找了半天，发现4个例子（除了GWT本身提供的外）

• gwt-weather
• a small and very simple application using MySQL and PHP at the server side, and GWT for the client interfaze, using JSON for the communication between the client and the server.
• http://www.josesandoval.com/FIFA2006/FIFA2006.html 这个是工具包里面的例子改的
• Mortgage Calculator

这里提到一个东西called JSON。JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format.这里主要是用到它的RPC functions(JSON RPC).很多时候需要和服务器交互的都是通过这个东西完成的。

我觉得以后如果真正用上这个框架来开发的话，用得较多的还是它的一些控件com.google.gwt.user.client.ui 。
